Accessibility Statement
What we have built in, what has not yet been audited, and how to tell us if something does not work for you.

Our commitment
We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, speech input, screen magnification or high-contrast settings. Given what we do for a living - running services for other people's customers - a site that excludes some of those customers would be difficult to justify.
The standard we are working to
We are working to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA.
We are not yet claiming conformance with that standard. A full independent audit has not been completed. Claiming conformance before testing would be exactly the kind of unverified assertion we refuse to make elsewhere on this site, so we are not making it here either. This statement will be updated with the audited position, including any exceptions, once that work is done.
What we have built in
The following are implemented and were checked during development:
- A skip link to the main content, first in the tab order.
- Semantic landmarks and a heading structure that follows a logical order, with one main heading per page.
- Keyboard access to navigation, search, accordions and forms, with a visible focus indicator.
- Labels on form controls, and validation errors presented in a summary rather than only beside the field.
- Text alternatives for images that carry meaning, and empty alternatives for decorative ones.
- Fixed image dimensions, so content does not shift under you as the page loads.
- Touch targets sized for comfortable use on a phone.
- Respect for the reduced-motion setting in your operating system.
- No reliance on colour alone to convey meaning.
- Layout that reflows at high zoom and on narrow screens.
Known gaps
Being straightforward about what is outstanding is more useful to you than a clean-looking statement:
- The independent audit and assistive-technology testing described above have not yet been carried out.
- Colour contrast across every component combination has not been exhaustively verified, though the palette was chosen with contrast in mind.
- Some areas of the site are still being built. New pages are developed to the same standard, but each is not individually audited before publication.
We also know that third-party destinations linked from this site, such as map, social or platform pages, are outside our control. We try to make the link text clear before you leave RHI's site, but the accessibility of the destination belongs to that provider.
Tell us if something does not work
If you hit a barrier on this site, please tell us - including the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using if you know it. Reports of real problems are considerably more useful than an internal checklist, and we will tell you what we intend to do about it and roughly when.
Use the general address on our contact page, or ring us if that is easier. If you need information from this site in a different format, ask and we will provide it.
We prioritise issues that block completion of a form, prevent navigation, hide important information, or create a risk of misunderstanding. Cosmetic issues still matter, but barriers to access come first.
Reviewing this statement
We will update this page when the independent audit is complete, when we fix something listed above, or when we become aware of a new barrier. It should never describe a position better than the one we are actually in.
